Maybe Tomorrow

Last August we were able to take a trip to San Jose, for a mini-reunion of the Dryg family. I think all seven of Great Grandma Dryg's kids were there, but we were among only 2 or three grandchildren to go. With the exception of Uncle Fred, and Great Grandma Bertha Dryg, our kids and I had never met any other Drygs in person. Now we feel like there really is actual other Drygs out there... they're not just myths. Right before we left, Bertha (98 years old) said, "It's a good thing we did this this year. I'm 100 years old, and that's long enough. I won't be here this time next year." I don't know if that was an old wise woman's premonition, or just chance... but she passed away a couple weeks ago. Isaiah and Ali had visited her in Michigan a few years ago, but we are glad Cori and Truman got a chance to meet her.

I've been sulking a bit over my inability to do "everything." Kids, homework, housework, church calling, house fix-up/redo projects, scrapbook, (what's that?) exercise, organize, play with kids, read to kids, do projects with kids... and of course blog. Sometimes instead of everything, I feel like I'm getting nothing done. Then there's Christine in Qatar... 4 kids, foreign country, husband working a lot... blogs all the time, and in the blogs are details of her doing everything I need to do. Granted she does have a few more interesting things to write about- with so many new experiences they are having. Some days I feel like if I were to blog more often, it would go like this:

Isaiah and I got into another fight. I grounded him. He said I was mean. Ali ran around the house making fairy beds and another messy project I never saw (but I saw the mess) Cori screamed every 32 minutes, sometimes more- depending on how often her sister and brother teased her. Truman is cute. He pooped a lot today. He's still spitting up, maybe by the time he's 2 he'll stop. I cleaned the kitchen. The kids dirtied the kitchen. I cleaned the bathroom. Isaiah peed all over the toilet, and the girls got water and bath toys everywhere. (EVERYWHERE.) We were 5 minutes late for school again today. Sigh. Maybe tomorrow.

Your kids are going to have such awesome memories of all the fun things you do with them. Lucky kids.

Oh my gosh! I am so glad Isaiah pees all over the toilet. I thought there was something wrong with my boys. I would be blogging about that too, but I want people to read my blog instead of thinking "Eeeew gross! Pee!" And Tara, have you noticed that I blog once every three weeks on average. That's not very much. I love reading your posts though. Keep putting up those pictures. And we'll be in Utah by the 5th of June for Ali's baptism for sure.
